Is blogging really a necessity for my company? How do I get the most out of blogging? How can WordPress help to market our products or services? How can we make sure it actually reaches our target clients? What should we write about and/or how can we find content to include? What should we not write about or include on a business blog? Find it out here.

Can BLOG be the next website? What a manufacturing company should blog?

what to blog manufacturing company

Often I used to think the success of a company having a website back in 1995-96 is going to be replicated by Blog these days or will be more. Why my clients should blog if they want to be successful in 2011 or 2012? Why wasting time on blogs, when you don’t love writing or spending time on something that is not going to give you a instant success today? What should I blog when my company is doing the same thing for several years and every body knows what we are providing?

As you can get from my past articles, blog is a sequential PR which you are doing at your own premise. It is also a thing that makes you personal towards your clients or target audience. Websites can evolve as the time passes, but your one article in 2006 can fetch you a thousands visitor today. That’s a miracle.  So if you are not having a blog today, then perhaps you are loosing that 1000 visitors or leads tomorrow. Every business start small and your future requires more clients than today. When it costs only 20minutes a day without much investment why should you waste $50000 on an ad tomorrow, which is not going to work that effectively anyway.

If you will meet some of our clients and will ask them about us, they will clearly tell you BLOGs. Our every client has a blog either they purchased it or we gave them it as a gift. We were a bit selfish back then. As we are making a company for 100years to come (I dream a lot) so if one of our client will be very very successful, then we will get a lot of attention as well. Recently we have started providing websites based on blogging platform which may look like a website but actually is a blog. We got a huge success with this approach as our clients are becoming hugely popular from this.

Recently we were discussing with a manufacturing company about what to blog. “We are producing piston from 30 years from now and most companies know us very well. What you are telling is really good. But what should we blog next morning when we are doing same work for 30years and we have some constant clients, our clients know what makes a product better.”

My answer was, “That’s really nice. Business scenario changes everyday. To keep your clients feel happy about it, you should show your daily activity in company. Let’s focus on Three Things:

  1. Post about Todays story at our factory with a photo, even can show the problems with one of your machine.
  2. Post some blogs under a category “We are in <Car/ truck model name> with some pics of the car”
  3. Your clients’ testimonials.
  4. Your testing results for pistons
  5. New CNC in your company and old machines at backyard you were working with back in 1985″

Let me see what is your opinion about blogs. Share your experiences blogging, and what should that Manufacturing company blog. You are most welcome. Comment section is just below this post.
